The National Hockey League announced the 2026‑27 regular‑season schedule on Thursday, confirming that the Boston Bruins will open the campaign on September 29 against the New York Rangers at TD Garden.
That opening night will also feature Will Borgen, who arrived from New York, and Joonas Korpisalo, the former Bruins goalie now wearing a Rangers jersey, adding an extra layer of intrigue to the first game of the year.
Boston’s schedule also includes a highly anticipated meeting with the Utah Mammoth on October 8, where JJ Peterka, recently traded to the Bruins, will face his former team for the first time, while Andrew Peeke returns to the Garden with Utah.
The Bruins will test themselves against the reigning Stanley Cup champions, the Carolina Hurricanes, on October 27 at Lenovo Center, a game that will see veteran forward Taylor Hall, a Cup‑winning champion, back in Boston’s lineup.
A Black Friday showdown against the Toronto Maple Leafs is slated for November 27 at TD Garden, followed weeks later by the retirement of Patrice Bergeron’s No. 37 on December 1 before the team hosts the Colorado Avalanche.

Patrice Bergeron, who spent 19 seasons with the Bruins and captained the club to a Stanley Cup in 2011, will have his No. 37 raised to the rafters in a ceremony that celebrates his leadership, two‑way excellence and contributions off the ice.
After the holiday break, the Bruins will play a New Year’s Day rematch with the Buffalo Sabres on January 5, a game that revisits the 2026 Stanley Cup Playoff series between the two clubs.
The club then embarks on a Western Canada road trip from February 17‑22, visiting the Calgary Flames, Edmonton Oilers, Vancouver Canucks and Seattle Kraken, before returning home for a final stretch that includes games against the Maple Leafs, Sabres, Florida Panthers and Tampa Bay Lightning as the playoff picture sharpens.
