A Revamped Receiving Corps
Boston College’s wide receiver unit enters the 2026 campaign with a blend of fresh talent and seasoned holdovers, a strategy necessitated by the departure of two of the program’s most productive pass catchers.
The loss of Lewis Bond, who held the school’s single‑season and career reception records, and Reed Harris, a top‑five transfer wideout, removed more than 1,666 yards and six touchdowns from the offense. To counteract that deficit, the Eagles signed four newcomers — Reed Swanson from Colgate, Landon Wright from Washington State, Javarius Green from North Carolina and Jackson Wade from Florida — while counting on redshirt junior Jaedn Skeete and sophomores Dawson Pough and Nedrick Boldin Jr. to provide continuity.
Deep‑Ball Threat and Breakout Potential
Coach Bill O’Brien has earmarked Swanson as the primary deep‑ball target for quarterback Mason McKenzie, citing his 6‑foot‑6 frame and 210‑pound build as ideal for stretching defenses. Skeete, despite a history of injuries, showed a 11.3‑yard average per catch last season and was selected to the 2023 All‑American Bowl, raising expectations for a breakout year.
The coaching staff also benefits from the return of former wide receivers coach Joe Dailey, who was rehired to mentor the group. Dailey’s experience, combined with the speed of players like Zay Flowers — who remains the fifth‑highest paid wide receiver in the NFL and earned All‑ACC honors — adds a layer of professional insight to the unit’s development.
Depth chart projections list Swanson, Skeete and Pough as the top three options, with additional contributors such as DJ Biggins and Bryce Dopson slated for rotational roles. The team hopes that the combined experience of returning players and the upside of the new recruits will restore the offensive production that was lost in the previous season.
