A New Era for BU Field Hockey

Boston University has released its 2026 field hockey schedule, marking the first season under head coach Sarah Shute, who begins her tenure after a distinguished playing career and brings a fresh vision to the program as the team enters its 49th varsity season.

The campaign opens on August 28 with a home contest against Merrimack, kicking off a stretch that will see the Terriers host seven matchups on their own turf, including September meetings with Dartmouth and Maine.

Patriot League play begins with a home game against Lehigh on October 3, and the squad will also welcome Holy Cross and Colgate to the schedule before concluding the regular season on the road at Lafayette on October 30.

Non‑conference road trips take the team to New Hampshire and Harvard, while additional away games are slated against Brown, Bryant and Boston College, providing a diverse slate of opponents early in the year.

Preseason scrimmages against UConn, Stonehill and Quinnipiac will give the team a chance to fine‑tune before the league championship, which is set for November 5 and 7 at the top seed’s venue.
