A Night of Brilliance
The Bourne Braves etched their names into Cape Cod Baseball League history on Tuesday night, silencing the Falmouth Commodores with a 4‑1 victory that featured a combined no‑hit effort. Despite an early error that threatened the perfect game, the pitching staff regrouped and delivered six innings without allowing a single hit.
Four pitchers merged their talents to shut down the Commodores' offense. Brendon Bennett opened the game on the mound, throwing 3.2 no‑hit innings before yielding Falmouth's lone run. Jackson Kircher, Edwin Alicea and Landon White each followed with scoreless outings, preserving the no‑hit bid.
Offensive Fireworks
At the plate, Blake Schaaf was unstoppable, collecting four hits and reaching base five times. His performance tied the franchise record for most hits in a single game by a Brave, while the team loaded the bases in the first three innings but could only manage two runs early on.
The Braves finally broke through in the sixth inning, loading the bases and adding two insurance runs that helped secure a positive run differential. The rally not only sealed the win but also lifted the club to the top of the CCBL West division.
Looking Ahead
The momentum carries the Braves into their next matchup against the Orleans Firebirds, scheduled for 6 p.m. ET on Tuesday. With a strong pitching staff and a hot-hitting lineup, Bourne aims to maintain its early-season dominance.
