A Season of Growth
The 2026 baseball campaign at Bossier Parish Community College ended with a 27‑23 record, cementing the Cavaliers’ resurgence under Head Coach Bobby Gilliam.
Over nine seasons Gilliam has guided the program to 252 victories, six winning campaigns and five playoff appearances, while the team captured its first conference championship in 25 years during the 2025 season.
Pitching coach Andrew Mercer’s recruiting and player‑development work produced two Region 14 Pitchers of the Year — Zach Saint Pierre in 2022 and Garett Blanchard in 2025.
Offensively, the 2026 squad batted .292 as a team and ranked second in Region 14 North with 63 home runs, a milestone achieved with the help of hitting strategist Bryant Bowen, a former Shreveport Times Player of the Year who joined the staff that year.
Eight Division I signees inked their letters in 2026, including Jacob Polleto (University of Southern Indiana), Gianluca Montanaro (Belmont University) and James Reina (Stephen F. Austin), while alumni such as Tyrus Hall (West Virginia) and Jacob Gillis (Texas State) continued to earn all‑conference and postseason honors.
The program’s pipeline remains one of the most productive in the region, sending eight players to Division I schools and preserving a legacy that stretches back to trailblazers like TJ Forrest, the last Cavalier to reach the College World Series before Hall’s 2026 breakthrough.
