Brad Anderson, a veteran broadcaster with deep roots in the Upper Midwest, has been named the new voice of Concordia College athletics, taking over from longtime announcer Larry Knutson, who retired earlier this spring.
Anderson, a 1998 graduate of Concordia, has spent more than two decades honing his craft at NDSCS, the Fargo Force, and a string of high school programs, earning a reputation for crisp play‑by‑play delivery and a personable on‑air presence.
His accolades include being named North Dakota Sportscaster of the Year in 2017 and repeatedly appearing as a finalist for the award in 2016, 2019, 2021, 2022 and 2025, as well as recognition from the Minnesota Associated Press and the Midwest Broadcast Journalists Association.
A New Chapter for Concordia Athletics
Starting this season, Anderson will call every Concordia football game on WDAY radio, providing live coverage of all ten contests, and will also stream every home men’s and women’s basketball game, ensuring that fans across the region can follow the teams in real time.
Beyond his new role, Anderson continues to serve as sports director and morning show host at KZTK radio in Casselton, North Dakota, where he has been the play‑by‑play announcer for NDSCS football and basketball since 2010 and has voiced the Fargo Force since 2015.
The transition reflects a broader commitment by Concordia to maintain continuity while injecting fresh energy into its sports broadcasts, a move praised by university officials and fellow media professionals alike.
Jim Cella, who has overseen the college’s athletic media relations for several years, expressed confidence that Anderson’s experience and deep ties to the campus community will enrich the broadcast experience for students, alumni and regional listeners.
