Hammerton, who previously served as president of the OSF HealthCare Foundation, guided the organization's assets from $30 million to $400 million during his tenure. His experience in strategic growth and donor relations equips him to address the financial and operational challenges facing collegiate athletics today.
The hire comes at a moment when name, image and likeness (NIL) agreements and player transfers have reshaped the sport's economics. Hammerton will work closely with athletics director Chris Reynolds and a coalition of university leaders to craft revenue strategies that align with these emerging dynamics.
