Brandon Cerezola is set to bring his extensive coaching pedigree to the Valdosta State University women’s basketball program, where he will assume a role on the Lady Blazers’ staff.
The announcement comes as the university looks to bolster a program that has been building momentum over recent seasons, and Cerezola’s arrival is being framed as a strategic addition to the coaching roster.
A Decade of Proven Success
Over the past ten years, Cerezola has amassed a blend of high school and collegiate experience that includes head stints at Starr’s Mill High School in Fayetteville, Georgia, and assistant roles at several institutions.
At Starr’s Mill, he guided the Lady Panthers to a program‑record 25 victories in the 2025‑26 campaign, finishing the season with a 47‑11 overall mark and a perfect 12‑0 record at home.
His teams have consistently posted strong offensive numbers, averaging 61.6 points per game while limiting opponents to just 35.0, and the 2025‑26 squad captured the Region 3‑AAAA Coach of the Year honor.
Beyond the win column, Cerezola’s impact is evident in the opportunities he has created for his players, producing 16 college offers for five athletes and coaching the 2025‑26 Region 3‑AAAA Player of the Year and Offensive Player of the Year.
His developmental work with the Southeast All‑Stars Adidas 3SSB further illustrates his ability to identify talent, a program that has launched more than 30 athletes into Division I basketball.
Prior to his recent appointment, Cerezola served as head men’s basketball coach and assistant athletic director at Landmark Christian School, where he transformed a program that had posted a 2‑23 record into a 16‑10 contender over four seasons.
His coaching journey also includes a stint at Schreiner University and a head coaching role at Hiwassee College, where he led the team to a 22‑5 record and secured an NCCAA Division I National Tournament berth.
Cerezola’s own playing career at Truett McConnell University from 2013 to 2017 was marked by academic excellence, earning NAIA Scholar‑Athlete and Champions of Character accolades, and serving as team captain.
He holds both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in Business Administration from Truett McConnell, underscoring a commitment to leadership on and off the court.
