Brandon Frattaroli, a standout forward from McGill University, has inked a professional contract with Nottingham Panthers of the United Kingdom’s Elite Ice Hockey League, marking the latest step in a transatlantic career that has taken him from the QMJHL to Denmark’s Frederikshavn and Sweden’s IF Troja‑Ljungby.
A McGill Legacy Extends to the UK
During his collegiate tenure, Frattaroli recorded 142 points — including 62 goals — in 137 games, earning OUA East first‑team all‑star honors and the Bobby Bell Trophy. He graduated with a degree in industrial relations and served as an alternate captain in his senior year, leading the league in goals and tying for the national lead in scoring during his final season.
Frattaroli will reunite with former McGill teammate Patrick Larkin, who signed with Nottingham Panthers in May 2024. The partnership is expected to bolster the team’s offense, as Frattaroli brings both scoring ability and veteran leadership to a club that has already welcomed several McGill alumni.
The signing adds to a growing list of McGill players who have made an impact in the UK’s professional ranks. Frattaroli becomes the 18th McGill hockey player to compete professionally in the United Kingdom and the sixth to wear the Panthers’ jersey, joining a distinguished group that includes alumni who have previously shone in Denmark’s Superisligaen and Sweden’s HockeyAllsvenskan.
