Gardner‑Webb University announced this week that Brandon Medina will join its women's soccer program as an assistant coach, a move that underscores the Bison's commitment to building a competitive staff.
A Strategic Addition for the Bison
Medina arrives after a stint as an assistant at Palm Beach Atlantic University, where he played a pivotal role in guiding the Sailfish to a seven‑win season in 2024 and helping reverse a period of underperformance.
His playing pedigree includes a standout collegiate career at the University of West Florida, where he helped the team to two NCAA Tournament appearances and captured a Gulf South Conference Tournament title in 2021.
Beyond college, Medina has also gathered professional coaching experience with the Colorado Rapids and with the youth side Coastal Rush, honing his tactical acumen across different levels of the game.
Speaking about the new role, Medina said he is eager to contribute to the program's success and to help the Bison take the next step forward, expressing enthusiasm for the opportunity to work with the student‑athletes and coaching staff.
The university's athletic director highlighted Medina's blend of playing experience, coaching acumen, and proven ability to develop talent, noting that his addition should strengthen recruitment and on‑field development.
