Brandon Wills‑Dickson, a 6‑foot‑2, 224‑pound linebacker from Baltimore, announced his commitment to West Virginia University for the 2028 class after a campus visit on June 1. The Baltimore native, praised for his size and versatility, said the Mountaineers stood out among a group of Power Four programs that included Florida State, Oregon, Nebraska and South Carolina.
His pledge marks the first official commitment in WVU’s 2028 recruiting class and reflects a broader strategy championed by head coach Rich Rodriguez, who has emphasized building a sustainable future for the program. Rodriguez highlighted the importance of early talent acquisition as the team looks to rebound from recent decommitments in the 2027 cycle.
WVU currently has 13 players verbally committed to the 2027 class, a group that experienced several reversals earlier this year. The early addition of Wills‑Dickson provides a foundation for the coaching staff’s long‑term vision, reinforcing the program’s focus on depth and positional flexibility.
