A Night of Celebration
Brantley School hosted a basketball banquet on June 6 to acknowledge the remarkable seasons of both its girls' and boys' teams. The evening highlighted the girls' Sweet 16 run and the boys' state championship, underscoring the program's recent resurgence.
The girls finished the year with an 18‑and‑6 record, a performance that head coach Andre Parks described as one of the strongest the school has seen in the past six to eight years. Their achievement set the tone for a night filled with pride and reflection.
A centerpiece of the ceremony was the ring presentation for the boys' team. The championship rings were donated by basketball legend Shaquille O'Neal, adding a memorable touch that linked the local triumph to a global icon.
The banquet was catered by The Parlor, a local favorite, and drew together players, parents, coaches, administrators and fans. The broad attendance illustrated the deep community support that has become a hallmark of Brantley athletics.
Principal Kris Odom took the opportunity to commend the collective effort behind the teams' successes, emphasizing how the shared enthusiasm of families and supporters fuels future accomplishments.
