Braxton Daniel, a three‑star tight end from Jenks High School in Oklahoma, is scheduled to arrive in Salt Lake City on June 5 for a weekend visit that will give him his first extended look at the Utah program.
A Recruiting Weekend with Multiple Targets
During his trip Daniel will meet with coaches, tour the facilities and get a feel for the campus environment, joining a slate of other high‑profile prospects including offensive linemen Tye Kennedy and Kelvin Eiwo, edge rusher Josh Christensen and linebacker Cam Pettijohn.
The visit comes at a pivotal moment for Utah, which is looking to add a tight end to its 2027 class that currently features three three‑star commits: running back Jonah Mailei, defensive lineman Tiki Teeples and edge rusher Jack Henderson.
Daniel, ranked No. 61 nationally among tight ends by 247Sports and the third‑best prospect from Oklahoma, holds offers from a handful of Power‑5 programs, including Arizona, Duke, Oklahoma State, Iowa State, SMU, Maryland, Baylor, West Virginia and TCU. He previously received an offer from Utah on February 2.
Utah’s 2027 class is currently positioned at No. 71 overall and No. 14 in the Big 12 according to 247Sports, a ranking that reflects both the potential impact of Daniel’s recruitment and the broader momentum the program is building.
The upcoming weekend will also showcase Utah’s growing appeal to recruits across the country, as the coaching staff leverages its recent on‑field successes and facilities upgrades to attract talent that could help the Utes climb the conference rankings in the years ahead.
