Brayden Watson, a three-star linebacker from Buford, Georgia, has officially committed to the University of Michigan, securing a spot in the Wolverines' 2027 recruiting class.
The 6-foot-2, 190-pound prospect arrives as the 16th verbal pledge for Michigan, a class that is already shaping up to be one of the most competitive in the nation.
Ranked No. 787 overall by the Rivals Industry Rankings, Watson brings a blend of size and speed that aligns with the program’s defensive schemes.
The Visit That Sealed the Deal
During an April visit to Ann Arbor, Watson toured the campus, observed a practice session and even participated in a casual bowling game with the coaching staff, experiences he described as “incredible” and instrumental in his decision.
While Michigan was his ultimate choice, Watson also held offers from traditional powers such as USC, Oregon, Pitt, Syracuse, Wake Forest, Vanderbilt and Mississippi State, underscoring the breadth of his options.
The commitment reflects not only the appeal of Michigan’s facilities but also the genuine interest shown by the entire coaching staff, a factor Watson highlighted as decisive.
