Breayah Jefferson Commits to Morehead State Women’s Basketball

The Toledo native brings scoring prowess and defensive tenacity to the Eagles

A New Face in the Nest

Breayah Jefferson, a 5‑6 guard from Toledo, Ohio, is set to wear the Eagle jersey for the 2026‑27 season, bringing a blend of scoring punch and defensive grit to the Morehead State women’s basketball program.

Her basketball journey began at Rogers High School, where she emerged as a sharpshooter before moving on to St. Clair Community College. There she posted a career‑high 50‑point game, shot 49 percent from the floor and amassed 78 steals, earning NJCAA Division I Honorable Mention All‑American honors.

Jefferson continued to develop at Monroe University, where she averaged 18 points per game and contributed 50 steals, helping the Mustangs to a competitive season. Her consistent performance on both ends of the floor made her one of the most reliable players on the roster.

Coaches and teammates alike have praised her work ethic. In a recent interview she said, “I’m thrilled to join Morehead State; the supportive environment and dedicated staff make it the perfect place to grow as a player and as a person.”

The Eagles hope Jefferson’s arrival will bolster their attack and tighten their defense. With her proven ability to score in bunches and create turnovers, the team looks poised to contend for conference honors in the upcoming campaign.

Beyond the numbers, Jefferson’s leadership off the court is expected to shape the culture of the program. Her commitment to academics and community involvement aligns with the university’s broader mission, promising a well‑rounded impact for the upcoming season.
