Jackson State University has named Breeland Speaks as its new defensive analyst and outside linebackers coach, tapping a former NFL second‑round draft pick to reinforce the Tigers’ defensive scheme heading into the 2026 season.
A College Career in the SEC
Speaks honed his talents at Ole Miss, where he emerged as a dominant defensive lineman in the SEC, recording 121 tackles, 15 tackles for loss and nine sacks over his collegiate career.
NFL Journey and Professional Growth
After being selected by the Kansas City Chiefs in 2018, Speaks spent time with several NFL franchises, including the Las Vegas Raiders, Dallas Cowboys and New York Giants, before finding a home with the Michigan Panthers of the United Football League.
