Charlotte Men’s Basketball announced the hiring of Brian Boyle as an assistant coach under head coach Wes Miller, a move that signals the program’s intent to deepen its analytical and developmental capabilities.
A Proven Offensive Architect
Boyle arrives after a standout tenure with the Greensboro Swarm, the NBA G League affiliate of the Charlotte Hornets. In 2026 he guided the Swarm to the league’s top‑ranked offense and captured a championship, showcasing his ability to design schemes that maximize player potential.
His offensive expertise is complemented by a decade of experience across multiple NBA organizations, including stints with the Philadelphia 76ers, Atlanta Hawks, Golden State Warriors and Denver Nuggets. Boyle’s background also includes a formative period as a graduate manager at La Salle University, where he began his coaching journey.
From Motor City to the Queen City
Prior to Greensboro, Boyle spent three seasons (2021–24) with the Motor City Cruise, the G League team affiliated with the Detroit Pistons. There he collaborated closely with the Pistons’ front office on player development programs and draft preparations, further honing his skill set in nurturing emerging talent.
The breadth of Boyle’s career extends beyond the NBA and G League. He has contributed to the Agua Caliente Clippers, Philadelphia 76ers, Atlanta Hawks, Golden State Warriors and Denver Nuggets, accumulating a diverse portfolio of coaching philosophies and player interactions.
Boyle’s playing days at the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia, where he competed in both basketball and golf, provided a foundation in discipline and strategic thinking that continues to inform his coaching approach.
