Brian Kelly, the winningest coach in Notre Dame history, is set to make his broadcasting debut this fall as CBS Sports expands its college football slate. The network has secured one Big Ten game per week and retains rights to the Mountain West, positioning Kelly alongside veteran analysts in a three‑man booth for those matchups.
CBS will also feature Kelly as a regular analyst on the weekday program Inside College Football, giving viewers a daily dose of his insights during the season. The move follows the network’s decision to enlist Charles Davis to replace Gary Danielson, pairing him with Brad Nessler for the Big Ten broadcasts.
Kelly’s journey to the booth spans more than two decades of sideline leadership. After stints at Central Michigan and Cincinnati, he guided the Fighting Irish to 113 victories, the most in school history, and led the team to the College Football Playoff on two occasions, including a appearance in the 2012 BCS Championship against Alabama.
After LSU terminated his contract midway through the 2025 season, the school agreed to a $54 million buyout following a legal settlement. In a recent interview with USA Today, Kelly confirmed his desire to return to coaching, emphasizing mentorship and program development as core goals.
