Brielle Mays Commits to Missouri State
Missouri State University announced the signing of Brielle Mays, a 5‑foot‑10 guard from Staley High School in North Kansas City, to its women's basketball program for the Class of 2027.
During her senior season, Mays helped the Falcons capture the Class 6 state championship game, showcasing her ability to perform on the biggest stage.
She closed out her high school career with averages of 9.8 points per game and a shooting percentage just under 40 percent, while a standout performance came against Liberty where she erupted for 27 points on 9‑of‑11 three‑point shooting.
The guard earned second‑team all‑conference honors in the Suburban Conference and attracted interest from several Division I programs, including Wichita State, Illinois State, Drake, New Mexico and Kansas City.
A Boost for the Bears' Future
Head coach Beth Cunningham, who secured the recruit last summer before Mays' junior year, highlighted the player's work ethic and shooting touch as key additions to the Bears' roster.
Mays' commitment not only bolsters Missouri State's in‑state recruiting footprint but also adds a proven scorer who can stretch the floor, positioning the program for continued growth in the coming seasons.
