Britinee Yasukochi has been appointed head coach of the Cal State San Marcos women's basketball team, ushering in a new chapter for the Triton program and setting the stage for an ambitious rebuilding effort.
A Coach With Deep Roots in California Basketball
Yasukochi arrives after seven seasons as an assistant at UC San Diego, where she helped the team secure two NCAA Tournament appearances and two Big West Tournament championships, contributing to a culture of winning and competitive depth.
Her coaching résumé also includes a productive year at Cal State East Bay, where she assisted in capturing a CCAA Tournament title in her first season, and a stint at the University of San Francisco that produced a WCC Tournament championship and an NCAA Tournament berth.
Before transitioning to coaching, she honed her analytical skills as a video coordinator and director of basketball operations at UC Davis, laying a foundation for the strategic mindset she now brings to her new role.
A native of Oceanside, Yasukochi played her collegiate career at Occidental College under current Triton head coach Heidi VanDerveer, a connection that underscores her deep ties to the region and her commitment to nurturing local talent.
