The Broad Street Park Post 313 baseball squad has turned a modest 6‑11 record into a late‑season surge, pulling off a 6‑5 victory over Hightstown Post 148 in the final week of the 2026 regular season. The win marks the team’s second consecutive upset and leaves them seventh in the Mercer County American Legion League with one game remaining against league leaders Allentown.
A Late‑Season Surge
Manager Mike Glazewski’s club has tightened both its batting order and its defensive fundamentals, a combination that has produced the recent turnaround. The offense has been steady, while the defense has limited opponents’ rallies and turned potential big innings into outs.
Key contributors include pitcher‑fielder Luke Radoslovich, who delivered a clutch diving catch to escape a bases‑loaded jam and also contributed solid work on the mound, and A.J. Zuccarello, whose consistent hitting helped spark the rally. Devon Decker added a triple and two RBIs for Hightstown, but it was not enough to offset the home team’s surge. Reliever Simeon McDaniel entered in the fifth inning and shut the opposition down the rest of the way.
Hightstown’s Danny Krier, headed to Mercer County Community College, acknowledged the need for better team play moving forward, noting his own sacrifice fly and single as modest contributions. Despite the loss, the experience underscores the competitive balance in the league.
With the postseason picture still undecided, the Post 313 squad will look to carry this momentum into their final matchup against Allentown, a game that could seal a berth for the playoffs.
