Broadfording, the Mason Dixon Christian Conference baseball powerhouse, secured the league championship with an 11-0 shutout over Heritage, a result that underscored the team’s dominance this spring.
David Estevez was the standout pitcher, tossing a two-hit game that featured three walks and seven strikeouts, while also adding a hit, a walk and two RBIs at the plate, earning him tournament MVP honors.
Undefeated Dominance
The Lions finished the conference schedule undefeated at 11-0, outscoring their opponents 159-8 and cementing a perfect record that will be remembered for years.
Antonio Dominguez contributed three hits, including a double, and scored three runs, while Angel Perez delivered a three-run triple and walked twice. Miguel Perez added a three-run double, walked twice and drove in four RBIs, and Jose Hernandez supplied an RBI single. Easton Socks also chipped in with an RBI double, and the pitching staff featured solid support from Caleb Wise, who walked and recorded a hit.
All-tournament honors went to Angel Perez and Miguel Perez for Broadfording, while Heritage’s Josiah Britner, Titus Britner and Wise earned similar recognition for the losing side.
In girls soccer, Cumberland Valley Christian completed a 3-0 victory over Heritage to claim the MDCC championship. Addison Teal opened the scoring in the first half and Reagan Witmer added a second-half goal, helping CVCS finish the season 16-1 while Heritage closed at 14-3-1. Notably, CVCS had handed Heritage all three of its losses during the campaign.
