Brody Moore, a senior at Brick Memorial, has been crowned the 2026 Shore Sports Insider Baseball Pitcher of the Year, a testament to a season that blended dominance on the mound with a potent bat.
His contributions helped the Mustangs capture their first-ever NJSIAA sectional title, a milestone that has resonated throughout the Shore Conference.
Dominance on the mound
Moore finished the year with a 1.22 earned run average, 101 strikeouts and a WHIP of 0.90, numbers that placed him eighth in the conference for ERA and seventh in WHIP.
He opened the season with a five‑inning no‑hitter against Donovan Catholic and later shut out Colts Neck in the seventh inning of the Group III semifinal, scattering just two hits while fanning nine batters.
In the championship game he delivered a two‑hit shutout, striking out nine and earning a no‑decision that underscored his ability to control the opposition when it mattered most.
At the plate Moore compiled a .423 batting average, adding 47 hits, seven doubles, a triple, two home runs and 32 RBIs, while also stealing 12 bases and patrolling center field with quality defense.
His all‑around impact was recognized when he was named MVP of the Ocean County Tournament and joined teammates Abel Martinez and Jack Vallillo on the 100‑strikeout plateau.
Moore will continue his career at West Chester University, where he hopes to build on the foundation laid during a senior year that also featured a 7‑0 record in nine appearances, one save and only 24 hits allowed over 48 innings.
