Brody Ososki, a standout athlete from Big Rapids, is concluding his high school sports career as he transitions to the New Mexico Ice Wolves junior hockey program. His final season showcased a blend of skill, leadership, and academic dedication that has drawn attention from coaches and peers alike.
A Promising Transition
During his high school tenure, Ososki amassed 123 points, earning All‑State First Team honors and a reputation as an outstanding player, leader, and ambassador for Cardinal hockey. This year alone he recorded 34 goals and 24 assists, totaling 58 points, while maintaining a 4.0 GPA.
Coach Tim Blashill and other staff members scouted Ososki midway through the 2025‑2026 season, recognizing his potential to contribute at the next level. The Ice Wolves organization highlighted his work ethic and character as key factors in their decision to bring him on board.
Ososki plans to travel to New Mexico in late July or early August to join the junior program, where he will develop as a forward or center. His ultimate goal is to play NCAA Division I hockey, a pathway he hopes to navigate by seizing opportunities and continuing to work hard.
Although he once considered baseball, Ososki ultimately chose to focus on hockey, emphasizing the importance of dedication and perseverance. With support from his family, coaches, and the broader Big Rapids community, he is poised to make a significant impact in his new environment.
