Bryce Breeden, a highly recruited linebacker from Bridge City, Texas, has verbally committed to the University of Arkansas, joining a growing list of top defensive talent heading to the SEC.
During the 2025 season, he logged eight sacks and 16 tackles for loss, earning District 10‑4A‑I Defensive MVP honors and attracting 33 scholarship offers from programs nationwide.
Commitment Decision Process
After trimming his list to six finalists — Arizona, Arkansas, Michigan, Northwestern, Purdue, and Texas Christian — Breeden said a campus tour of Fayetteville proved decisive, with the atmosphere and coaching staff sealing his choice.
He noted that the prospect of playing in the Southeastern Conference and contributing to the Razorbacks’ defense factored heavily in his decision.
Future Goals and Signing Timeline
Breeden hopes to lead Bridge City to further success before officially signing with Arkansas in December or on National Signing Day in February 2027, a date he plans to mark on his calendar.
Coaches Josh Smalley and Ryan Silverfield expressed confidence that Breeden’s work ethic and skill set will elevate the program’s defensive front.
