Selected with the 198th overall pick in the 2026 MLB Draft, Moore’s signing comes with a slot value of $317,100, a figure that reflects the Pirates’ confidence in his upside.
During his lone season with the Florida State Seminoles, Moore made 14 starts, posting a 3.86 ERA and a 6‑2 record. He earned ACC Pitcher of the Week honors after a seven‑shutout‑inning performance against Virginia, striking out seven batters while allowing just two hits and a walk.
After battling injuries during his tenure with the Virginia Cavaliers, where he posted a 2.59 ERA and a 2‑0 record, Moore returned to full health and delivered a standout season that helped the Seminoles capture the Tallahassee Regional title.
His arrival adds depth to a Pirates rotation that already features fellow FSU alumni Wes Mendes, drafted in the second round, and Trey Beard, selected in the fifth. Together, the trio represents a significant infusion of talent from the university’s recent draft class.
