Charleston Southern University’s men’s basketball program has unveiled its full non‑conference schedule for the 2026‑27 season, a 16‑game lineup that charts a demanding road through the early college basketball calendar.
A Busy Road Ahead
Head coach Saah Nimley, who has guided the Buccaneers for several seasons, said the schedule reflects a deliberate effort to test the team against a mix of opponents while building momentum for conference play.
The slate includes six home contests at the Buccaneer Fieldhouse, providing the team with a familiar backdrop for its opening stretch.
The season opens on November 2 with a road test at South Florida, followed by a home opener on November 5 against Columbia International at 7:00 p.m.
Early road trips will also take the Buccaneers to Wake Forest on November 10 and to West Georgia on November 14, before the first of two marquee matchups in the inaugural Big South‑SoCon scheduling alliance arrives on November 18 at home against Wofford.
The second alliance game follows three days later at Mercer on November 21, and the team will then head to Johnson City, Tennessee, for the ETSU Multi‑Team Event, where they will meet ETSU on November 27 and Morehead State on November 28.
Thanksgiving week brings a trip to James Madison, after which the Buccaneers return home for a December 1 showdown with The Citadel, a December 5 clash with South Carolina State, and a December 7 game against Warren Wilson.
The schedule also features a road game at North Florida on December 16 and a home matchup against Piedmont on December 18, before the slate concludes with back‑to‑back road contests at IU Indy on December 22 and at Old Dominion on December 28.
Overall, the non‑conference slate is designed to sharpen the Buccaneers’ competitive edge and prepare them for the rigors of Big South Conference play, which begins after the final regular‑season game.
