Buddy Singleton’s coaching journey at D'Iberville unfolded in two distinct eras, from 1965 to 1987 and again from 2008 to 2015. Across those periods he amassed a combined record of 243 wins, 95 losses and three ties, yielding a .713 winning percentage that speaks to sustained excellence. His first tenure alone delivered a 177‑59‑3 ledger, while his second stint added 66 victories against 36 defeats.
The impact of those numbers extends beyond the ledger. Singleton guided the Warriors to undefeated campaigns in 1978 and 1979, each season finishing 11‑0 and 10‑0 respectively, and stringing together a 21‑game winning streak that still ranks among the longest in state history. Those years also produced five Pascagoula River Conference championships, cementing his role as a cornerstone of the program’s golden age.
