Bulldogs break out with decisive win
The Sandpoint High Bulldogs finally broke out of their early‑season slump, posting a 10‑1 non‑league victory over the Bonners Ferry Badgers on Thursday night and improving their record to 1‑2.
The team exploded for five goals in the first half, building a comfortable lead before adding another five in the second half, a rhythm that highlighted their offensive depth.
Aleeya Anaya paced the attack with a hat trick, while Bayah Ratigan and Jordyn Tomco each contributed two goals, and the supporting cast of Ella Lett, Vivian Haag and Hadley Chartey each found the net once.
Coach Alan Brinkmeier emphasized the importance of possession, quality chances and finishing, noting that early carelessness with the ball gave way to sharper execution after the break.
Bonners Ferry managed a late penalty kick from Marley Pauls, but the effort was not enough to stem the Bulldogs’ momentum, a fact that head coach Emily Winebark called a valuable learning experience for her squad.
Upcoming fixtures
Sandpoint is scheduled to host Post Falls on Saturday at 8 a.m., while Bonners Ferry will travel to Grangeville later that afternoon at noon.
