A Wet but Determined Start
The Georgia Bulldogs opened their preseason camp under a light drizzle, stepping out of the indoor facility and onto the practice field for the first time this year.
Coach Kirby Smart set a brisk tempo, urging the unit to move quickly and reminding them that the final period would be counted down with less than three minutes on the clock.
Among the standouts, running back Nate Frazier displayed sharp agility, hauling in a low pass from quarterback Ryan Puglisi, while freshman back Jae Lamar stayed upright after a minor brush with linebacker Zayden Walker.
Veteran defensive lineman Jordan Hall, still easing back from a knee injury that limited him to eight games last season, worked in a full‑speed drill, showing he is ready to contribute.
Offensive coordinator Mike Bobo’s distinctive mustache drew a light‑hearted comment from tight end Lawson Luckie, and Smart instructed defenders to knock the ball down from wideout routes during individual work.
The drill groups were organized in threes, featuring linemen such as Drew Bobo at center, Zykie Helton at right guard and Juan Gaston at right tackle, while supporting pieces like Warren Ericson paired with Earnest Greene and Dontrell Glover.
Later, Daniel Calhoun’s imposing 6‑foot‑6, 325‑pound frame drew attention, and Jaden Reddell asked for eyedrops as the heat and humidity rose.
The punt coverage unit, highlighted by Smart as a priority, saw punter Drew Miller’s high‑arched kick caught by Sacovie‑White Helton, with Craig Dandridge also securing a machine‑thrown punt.
New radio voices Jeff Dantzler and Jon Stinchcomb observed the session, adding a fresh broadcast perspective as the Bulldogs prepare for a demanding season.
