Caden Davidson, a first baseman from Gaston College, announced his commitment to the University of Florida baseball team, marking the seventh addition from the transfer portal and the only junior college transfer in the class.
During his freshman season, Davidson hit .500 with 18 doubles, 23 home runs and 110 RBIs, helping Gaston College finish a historic 54‑5 campaign that fell just short of the Region 10 championship.
His .620 on‑base percentage, 46 walks and only 28 strikeouts underscore a disciplined approach at the plate, while 43 of his 93 hits went for extra bases.
Originally pledged to Wake Forest in April, Davidson ultimately chose Florida after a thorough evaluation of the program’s development path and national exposure.
The Gators’ coaching staff highlighted his defensive versatility, having transitioned from third base in high school to first base at Gaston College, and praised his leadership both on and off the field.
