A New Chapter for a Local Talent
Caden Mobley, a senior soccer player from Owen High School, has officially signed with Mars Hill University, marking the next step in his collegiate career.
Known for his tenacity and playmaking ability, Mobley concluded his high school tenure as the team’s assist leader, dishing out 17 assists while also scoring seven goals.
His decision to join Mars Hill comes as he will reunite with teammate Spencer Woolley, a partnership that coach Trei Morrison believes will strengthen the Lions’ midfield.
Coach Morrison’s Praise
Head coach Trei Morrison highlighted Mobley’s work ethic, describing him as a player who brings an incredible rate of effort and a deep commitment to the sport.
Morrison, who guided the Lions from 2000 to 2005, noted that Mobley’s understanding of the game and passion have grown under his mentorship, crediting the coach for helping him develop both as a player and as a person.
A Shared Vision
The familiarity between Mobley and Woolley is expected to smooth the transition to college soccer, allowing the duo to focus on building on their high school chemistry at the next level.
Both athletes are described by Morrison as quality players and quality people, reflecting the program’s emphasis on character as well as competence.
For Mobley, the opportunity represents the realization of a lifelong dream, a moment he says he has been working toward since he first kicked a ball at age four.
