The CIF Southern Section announced its Division 3 baseball all‑section team, honoring several standout high school players from the region.
Steven Rubio of Cajon High School paced the offense with a .453 batting average and 39 hits over 29 games, helping the team clinch the Citrus Belt League championship by a single game over Yucaipa.
On the mound, Gavin Garcia posted an 8‑2 record with a 1.41 ERA and 84 strikeouts in 64 innings, underscoring his role as a reliable ace for the team.
Landyn Von Kaenel of Yucaipa added another layer of depth, batting .446 with a .513 on‑base percentage, 45 hits, 15 doubles and a slugging percentage of .693, while also delivering two triples and two home runs.
He contributed 26 RBIs, scored 28 runs and posted a perfect .978 fielding percentage with 42 putouts and just one error, and even threw nine innings without allowing an earned run, striking out six and walking seven.
The combined performances highlighted a competitive season for both Cajon and Yucaipa, teams that finished atop their league and earned multiple all‑section nods.
