Cal-Hi Sports has unveiled the nominees for its 44th annual All-State Baseball Teams, a tradition that spotlights the brightest high school talent from across California. The announcement comes as teams from the CIF Central Coast, Central, North Coast, SF/Oakland, Northern and Sac-Joaquin Sections continue to battle in the postseason, with coaches, parents and community members encouraged to submit their selections before the deadline.
A season of standout performances
The selection process honors players in several categories, including juniors, sophomores, medium schools and small schools. A special multi‑purpose category celebrates athletes who excel both on the mound and at the plate, reflecting the increasingly versatile nature of high school baseball.
Among the highlighted nominees is Kyle Timmons of Franklin in Elk Grove, whose team opened the CIF NorCal D2 playoffs with two victories. Another standout, Gabe Felix from San Jose Valley Christian, posted five shutout innings during the NorCal D1 playoffs, underscoring his dominance as a pitcher.
Jack Leeper, a junior outfielder from St. Francis in Mountain View, has committed to Stanford and ranks among the top ten prospects for the 2027 MLB Draft. Deakin Brinkley of Bakersfield Christian earned recent NorCal Player of the Week honors after helping his squad capture a section title.
Hudson Flora from Foothill in Pleasanton, a senior catcher‑hitter named Player of the Year in the East Bay Athletic League, will continue his career at UC Santa Barbara, where his older brother Jackson is projected as a high first‑round pick in the upcoming MLB Draft.
The nomination window remains open for anyone wishing to put forward a deserving player. Submissions can be made by coaches, parents or other supporters, ensuring that the breadth of talent across the state is captured before the final selections are announced.
