Cal Poly’s women’s soccer program has reinforced its squad for the 2026 season by welcoming four new transfers, a move designed to protect the team’s recent Big West Championship crown.
Roster Reinforcements
The incoming quartet features forwards Zoe Minnery and Isis Salazar‑Ortega alongside midfielders Izzy Sawyers and Miah Thomas, each bringing a blend of collegiate experience and proven scoring ability.
Minnery arrives from Santa Barbara City College, where she earned a reputation as a prolific goal‑scorer, while Salazar‑Ortega, a product of Cal State Bakersfield, adds a sharp finishing touch that helped the Roadrunners contend in the Big Sky Conference.
Sawyers, a daughter of former U.S. Women’s National Team star Julie Foudy, joins from Oregon, bringing both heritage and midfield tenacity, and Thomas, also from Cal State Bakersfield, is celebrated for her leadership and commanding presence in the center of the park.
Depth and Experience
Their arrivals come alongside five mid‑year signings and six incoming freshmen, creating a deep pool of talent that coaches hope will translate into consistent performances on the pitch.
The recruitment strategy taps into established club pipelines, linking the Mustangs with powerhouses such as Slammers FC, Legends FC and Central Coast United, all of which have contributed players with top‑level experience.
