Caleb Dempsey builds community baseball hub in Oliver, Pennsylvania

From high school standout to founder of 724 Baseball, the training center blends local pride with player development

A hometown vision takes shape

Caleb Dempsey, a 2015 graduate of Albert Gallatin High School, turned his love for baseball into a community project by launching 724 Baseball in Oliver, Pennsylvania. He chose the local area code as the center’s name to embed the venture in the region’s identity, using the familiar three‑digit prefix as a rallying point for nearby families.

After securing a space at Fayette Ball Academy, Dempsey recruited coaches Zach Uhazie and Noah Mildren to help run the program. Scott Fichter, who also serves as an administrator for the affiliated Stallions Baseball Club travel team, joined to provide speed and agility training, adding a professional layer to the instruction.

The center’s philosophy centers on teaching youngsters the right habits and mindset while keeping the experience enjoyable. Dempsey emphasizes a balance between disciplined practice and fun, a approach that resonates with players who share player‑of‑the‑year honors with Shane Roebuck back at Albert Gallatin.

Dempsey’s own athletic journey includes college stints at La Roche University and PennWest California, where he played club baseball and helped the team qualify for the College World Series in Kansas. Those experiences inform his coaching style, blending rigorous preparation with a playful spirit.

Beyond individual training, 724 Baseball now supports youth leagues and travel teams, offering resources through its website and social media channels. The organization’s growth reflects a broader effort to nurture local talent and give the next generation of players a solid foundation in the sport.
