Caleb Rhodes earns NJCAA Player of the Year
Caleb Rhodes, a sophomore first baseman at Olive-Harvey College, has been crowned NJCAA Region 4 Division I Player of the Year, a testament to a season that blended power, precision and poise.
At the plate he posted a .466 batting average, smashing 13 home runs and driving in 51 runs across 38 games, while also delivering eight doubles and drawing 32 walks, 25 of them intentional. His discipline was evident in a strikeout total of just five all season, underscoring a rare combination of contact and power.
Beyond the numbers, Rhodes has been pursuing an associate degree in business, balancing academic ambitions with a demanding athletic schedule that saw him represent the Panthers on the national stage.
A national perspective
The honor follows a second‑place finish in the nation for batting average a year ago, where he posted a .464 mark, and positions him as a leading candidate for future accolades as he eyes a transfer to a four‑year program.
Coach and teammates alike credit his work ethic and coachability, traits that have turned a promising talent into a regional standout and a model for younger players in the league.
