Callie McKinney Joins Mizzou Soccer Staff as Assistant Coach

Former Bellarmine Head Coach Brings Playing Pedigree and Tactical Experience to Columbia

A New Era for Mizzou Soccer

The University of Missouri announced this week that Callie McKinney will join the Tigers' soccer program as an assistant coach, bringing a blend of playing experience and coaching acumen to the staff.

McKinney arrives after a productive stint at Southern Methodist University, where she contributed to the Mustangs' 2025 campaign and helped the team finish with an 8‑8‑2 record.

Coaching Journey and Accomplishments

Prior to her time at SMU, she spent five seasons at Bellarmine University, culminating in a head‑coaching role in 2024 that resulted in the program’s first ASUN Tournament appearance in three years.

Her playing career unfolded at the University of Louisville, where she earned a bachelor's degree in exercise science and later a master's in health science. As a senior in 2019, she struck the game‑winning goal in a 1‑0 victory over Clemson.

The current roster includes players such as Stefanie Golan, Kelsey Wys, Emma Nicholson, Sydni Whitehead, Elyssa Francis, and Alexa Orozco, who are expected to benefit from McKinney's tactical insight.

Athletic leaders at the university expressed confidence that her addition will strengthen the program's competitiveness as it prepares for the upcoming season.
