Elon University announced this week that Calum Erlenborn has officially joined the men’s soccer coaching staff as an assistant coach, effective July 2026. The addition marks the latest step in a coaching journey that has taken him from New Jersey youth clubs to the collegiate ranks.
Erlenborn arrives after a season at Gardner‑Webb University where he helped the program achieve ten clean sheets, underscoring his defensive expertise and attention to detail. His work with goalkeepers at FC Motown and FC COPA in New Jersey further refined his ability to nurture talent between the posts.
A New Chapter at Elon
At Elon, Erlenborn will collaborate with head coach Mike Jacobs to shape a competitive roster, drawing on his experience developing young players and his deep understanding of tactical discipline. The university hopes his background will translate into stronger defensive performances and a culture of accountability.
Before his coaching career, Erlenborn played collegiately at Drew University, captaining the team in his senior year and earning a philosophy degree in 2023. He previously contributed to William Paterson University’s staff and honed his skills with several youth clubs in New Jersey, building a foundation that blends academic rigor with athletic ambition.
