Calum Mallace appointed Associate Head Coach for Marquette Women’s Soccer

Hall of Famer and former professional player adds depth to the program's coaching staff

A Strategic Addition for the Program

Marquette University's women's soccer program has named former professional midfielder Calum Mallace as its new associate head coach and recruiting coordinator, a move announced by head coach Chris Allen that underscores the program's commitment to elevating both talent acquisition and on‑field development.

Mallace, a Marquette M Club Hall of Famer, brings a blend of professional experience and collegiate coaching expertise. After serving as director of player development at Northwestern and assisting the Marquette men's soccer staff, where he helped shape a 13‑14‑6 record over two seasons, he is now positioned to drive the women's program forward.

His playing career includes a 20th‑overall selection in the 2012 MLS SuperDraft by the Montreal Impact and 85 appearances for clubs in Montreal, Seattle, Los Angeles, and Austin. That background provides him with a nuanced understanding of high‑level competition that he hopes to translate into recruiting and player development for the Wildcats.

Before joining Marquette, Mallace contributed to the growth of All‑Big Ten honorees Ugo Achara Jr. and Rom Brown at Northwestern and was part of the Loyola University Chicago staff that posted a 26‑9‑14 record, demonstrating his ability to build winning teams and nurture talent across different programs.

Chris Allen expressed enthusiasm about the new addition, noting that Mallace's blend of professional pedigree and recruiting insight will accelerate the team's growth both on and off the field, reinforcing the program's ambition to compete at the highest level in the BIG EAST conference.
