Calvary Baptist's baseball squad captured the imagination of the district this spring, finishing the season with a commanding performance that left opponents scrambling to keep pace.
Co‑MVP Honors
The accolades followed quickly, with Cooper Holmes and Brody Gray sharing the league's most valuable player award, a testament to their all‑around impact. Holmes, a senior, posted a .467 batting average, smashed nine home runs, drove in 33 runs and scored 35 times, while Gray, a junior, hit .401, added seven homers and also tallied 35 runs.
Levi DeMoss, a freshman, earned offensive player of the year after a .391 average, a home run, 26 RBIs and 33 runs scored, underscoring the depth of talent on the roster.
A Scholarship and a Season of Records
Holmes capped his high school career with a scholarship to Southern Arkansas, a move that reflects both his athletic and academic promise.
First‑Team Selections
The first‑team all‑district selections read like a who's who of the parish, featuring Bradley Thrash at third base for D’Arbonne Woods, while the outfield was populated by a mix of Calvary and D’Arbonne standouts such as Vince Capanella, Garrett Lee, Ethan Thrash, Thorne Stripling and Jericho Adkins.
Utility players John Austin and Holt Tunstall from North Caddo, along with Paxton Prince and Joshua Willis from Homer, rounded out the versatile options, while catchers Luke Fontenot and Dalton Albritton added depth behind the plate.
Designated hitter Brady Martinez contributed a .341 average, and the pitching staff was anchored by Beaux Loftin's 2.01 ERA, with Patrick Digilormo, Carson Riser, Michael Stevens, Dakota Jorden, and Clay Isggit each posting solid numbers.
Coach's remarks: The blend of power, precision and poise suggests a bright future for Calvary as they look ahead to next season's challenges.
