Camden Cooper Commits to Florida A&M, Elevating Program’s Recruiting Class

The four-star guard will reclassify to the 2027 cohort, choosing FAMU over Power Four suitors.

Camden Cooper, a 6-foot-7 guard/forward from Jacksonville, has pledged to Florida A&M University, turning down a slate of offers that included Power Four programs such as Florida State and Texas A&M.

Rivals.com lists him as a three-star prospect while ESPN rates him as a four-star recruit, making him the highest-rated commit in the history of the FAMU men’s basketball program.

A Recruit with Power Four Options

Cooper will reclassify to the 2027 class, effectively graduating high school a year early and joining the Rattlers for the 2027-28 season.

During the 2026 campaign he helped the Allen D. Nease Panthers to a 20-7 record, averaging 17.7 points, 3.4 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 1.9 steals and 0.5 blocks.

His commitment follows the recent addition of four-star guard Jayden 'JJ' Joseph, who will also join the Rattlers for the upcoming season.

Looking Ahead

Coach and fans alike anticipate that Cooper’s arrival will bolster the program’s recruiting momentum and could accelerate the team’s rise in the coming years.
