Brandt’s early college experience included 14 games as a true freshman, where he earned special‑teams duties and saw limited defensive snaps, highlighted by a sack and a forced fumble against Alabama that underscored his upside.
In the 2025 season he recorded 405 defensive snaps, ranking ninth among Michigan’s defenders, while primarily serving as a rotational piece and leader on special teams, a role that was reshaped by the arrival of veteran John Henry Daley and five‑star freshman Carter Meadows.
