Campbell University’s baseball squad kicked off the CAA Championship with a decisive 3-1 victory over the University of North Carolina Wilmington on Tuesday night, a win that marks the team’s 40th triumph of the season, the highest total since 2023.
The Camels’ offense was sparked early, with Jonah Oster delivering a solo home run and driving in two runs, providing the cushion that would prove crucial in the later innings.
Rossow’s Milestone
Veteran right-hander David Rossow continued his dominant stretch, earning his 10th win of the campaign. The outing placed him among the top three single-season win leaders in program history and marked his 100th career strikeout, a milestone that makes him the fifth Camel to reach the century mark.
Coach Mike Murphy praised the collective effort, noting that the blend of timely hitting and reliable pitching has defined the team’s recent surge. Lukas Schramm and Jett Music also contributed key defensive plays that kept UNCW at bay.
Looking ahead, the Camels are set to face the winner of the Northeastern-Hofstra matchup, a prospect that adds another layer of excitement to an already electric postseason run.
