Campbell’s women’s soccer team will begin the 2026 season with a pair of away fixtures that could define its early trajectory. On Thursday night, August 20, the Camels travel to face East Carolina at 7 p.m., a match streamed on ESPN+, followed by a Sunday showdown with Clemson on August 23 at 1 p.m., broadcast on ACCNX.
The schedule pits the Camels against two programs that have historically held the upper hand. East Carolina leads the all‑time series 6‑12‑1, and Campbell has not recorded a win over the Pirates since April 2012. Meanwhile, Clemson holds a 2‑0 edge overall, having outscored the Camels 8‑2 in their most recent encounter.
Coach Jeff Gross, now in his fifth season at Campbell, brings a proven track record of turning programs into contenders. He previously guided UNC Greensboro to NCAA Tournament appearances, and he returns a roster that retained 100 percent of its scoring from the previous campaign, anchored by junior Ava Kanaar, who led the team with four goals and ten points.

Anais van Doesburg, the senior goalkeeper, will look to extend her four career shutouts and provide stability between the posts. Sophomore Juju Harris, who contributed 22 points for Clemson last season, returns to the lineup with increased confidence, while transfer Kennedy Reed adds depth after a promising stint elsewhere.
