Both athletes bring a blend of American Hockey League productivity and limited National Hockey League experience, having spent recent seasons navigating the minor leagues while eyeing a chance to crack the Canadiens' roster.
Davidson, 27, posted 16 goals and 25 points in 53 games for the Laval Rocket during the 2025-26 season, and he added a modest 18 hits and an assist in his 10 NHL appearances last year.
McKown, 25, arrives after being acquired from the Columbus Blue Jackets in exchange for forward Luke Tuch, and he brings a career AHL tally of 31 goals, 49 assists and 80 points across 184 games, having previously suited up for the Blue Jackets and the Cleveland Monsters.
