A New Chapter for the West Division
The Cape Cod Baseball League’s West Division returns with a blend of seasoned contenders and rising programs, each eager to stake a claim in a schedule that promises crisp summer evenings and tightly contested games. From Bourne’s historic ballpark to the waterfront fields of Falmouth, the stage is set for another summer of baseball that captures the spirit of the Cape.
Bourne Braves, the defending champions, are aiming for their fourth title in just six seasons. The team brings back a core that includes Rhys Bowie, Luke Costello and Ryker Waite, while welcoming newcomers Myles Upchurch and Ethan Surowiec. Their blend of experience and fresh arms positions them as the team to beat as they chase another championship.
The Cotuit Kettleers, entering their 79th season, hope to rebound from a 17‑20‑3 record last summer. Returning standouts Landon Beaver and Ryan Buckler will be joined by Seojun Oh, Hunter Warren and a trio of prospects from Indiana, giving the club a mix of power and precision that could push them back into contention.
Falmouth Commodores, who missed the playoffs by a narrow margin with a 16‑23‑1 slate, are bolstered by the return of Carl Schmidt, Joe Sabbath and Trevor Baumler. New additions Ty Kaunas and Jack Bauer are expected to add depth, while the club’s community outreach programs continue to strengthen ties with local fans.
Hyannis Harbor Hawks secured a playoff berth through a tiebreaker in 2025 and will look to build on the return of Charlie Bates and Tsubasa Tomii. Fresh talent such as Caden Miller, Matt Ineich and Jon Embury is slated to inject new energy into the lineup.
Wareham Gatemen, the 2025 Commissioner’s Cup champions, finished the season at 20‑20 and will aim to defend that title. Key returnees Caden McDonald and Levi Clark are complemented by newcomers Alonzo Alvarez, Dylan Dubovik and Kade Elam, who bring a blend of speed and skill that could make the Gatemen a formidable force once again.
