Chapters of the American Outlaws in Saratoga Springs and Albany have announced a series of watch parties, street festivals and themed gatherings that will run throughout the month-long event, inviting anyone who shares the passion for the beautiful game.
The American Outlaws, a nationwide network of supporters’ groups, trace their roots back to 2007 when a handful of fans in Lincoln, Nebraska, began meeting informally to cheer on the U.S. men’s national team.
Today that grassroots movement has blossomed into more than two hundred chapters across the United States, each weaving its own thread into the larger tapestry of American soccer culture.
Chapter 138, based in Saratoga Springs, has been active for roughly twelve years and now counts about fifty-two members, while the Albany chapter, anchored at Wolff’s Biergarten on Broadway, boasts a roster just over one hundred fans.
Local establishments such as Bailey’s in Saratoga Springs and Wolff’s Biergarten in Albany have become informal stadiums, offering screens, craft brews and a welcoming atmosphere that turns every match into a communal experience.
The region’s connection to the sport extends to the international stage, with players like Tyler Adams, Claire Hutton and Sam Coffey — who have all represented the United States at senior level — training and competing just a short drive away.
For the Outlaws, soccer is more than a sport; it is a vehicle for bringing people together, fostering inclusivity and creating a sense of belonging that transcends age, background and geography.
As the tournament approaches, chapters are planning giveaways, raffles and collaborative events with nearby breweries, ensuring that the excitement will be matched by a spirit of generosity and community engagement.
