A Fresh Start for Young Players
The Washington Capitals have announced that registration is now open for their Learn‑to‑Play youth hockey program, hosted at the Mount Vernon RECenter in Alexandria. The initiative targets children between the ages of four and eight, offering an early introduction to hockey that emphasizes fun, safety and foundational skill development.
Program participants will work with experienced coaches who guide them through essential techniques such as skating, puck handling and basic teamwork concepts. The curriculum is designed to build confidence on the ice while fostering a love for the game in a supportive group setting.
Because spots are limited, families are encouraged to enroll their children promptly to secure a place in the upcoming session. Early registration also provides an opportunity for parents to connect with other local hockey enthusiasts and become part of the growing community around youth sports in the region.
