Bjorklund, a sixth‑round pick in the 2020 draft, has carved a path from the ECHL to the AHL, accumulating 57 appearances in the former and two in the latter during the early stages of his professional career.
During the most recent ECHL campaign he posted a .927 save percentage over 29 games, a performance that helped him earn a return trip to the AHL where he appeared in 17 contests.
In those AHL outings his save percentage settled at .876, which was lower than the .912 mark posted by teammate Clay Stevenson and the .903 figure turned in by Mitchell Gibson.
The contract includes an AHL salary of $110,000 for the 2025‑26 season, a modest figure that reflects the Capitals' cautious optimism as they watch his development curve.
